MANHATTAN - The NYC Barbershop Museum in Manhattan's Upper West Side explores the impact of barbers on our society.
The museum's founder, Arthur Rubinoff, says he's been cutting hair since he was 14 years old and he's a fourth-generation barber.
Rubinoff says he started legally cutting hair at 18 years old and that it's always been his dream to be a barber after losing his father in 2003.
"All the tools he used to use... I still have them, especially the scissors," says Rubinoff.
Rubinoff says he decided he wanted to open up the museum to honor all the barbers in the world and to respect his father.
He says his father was his role model and encouraged him to become a barber. Rubinoff and his family immigrated to the U.S.
